Getting started is easy! Simply click "Create" in the navigation, then choose a template from our gallery or upload your own image. Once you're in the studio, you can add text, adjust styling, and position elements exactly how you want them.

We support JPG, PNG, and WEBP image formats for uploads. Your final memes are exported as high-quality PNG files to preserve transparency and image quality. We recommend using PNG for the best results.

Absolutely! Make-a.meme is fully responsive and works great on mobile devices and tablets. The studio interface adapts to touch controls, making it easy to create memes on the go.

In the studio, click the "Add Text" button (T icon) in the toolbar on the left. This will add a new text box that you can edit. You can also double-click anywhere on the canvas to add text at that specific location.

Select any text box and use the customization panel on the right to adjust font family, size, color, alignment, and shadow effects. You can choose from various fonts including Impact (classic meme font), Arial, Comic Sans, and more.

Click on any text box to select it. You can then drag it to move it around, use the corner handles to resize it, or use the rotation handle to rotate the text. On mobile, touch and drag gestures work the same way.

Use the position sliders in the customization panel for precise control. The X and Y position controls let you place text exactly where you want it. You can also use the alignment options (left, center, right) and vertical alignment (top, middle, bottom).

Select a text box and look for the duplicate and delete buttons in the customization panel header. You can also use keyboard shortcuts: Delete key to remove selected text, or the duplicate button to create a copy.

Yes! Use the undo (↶) and redo (↷) buttons in the toolbar. You can also use keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on Mac) to undo, and Ctrl+Y to redo changes.

Click the "Export" button in the toolbar. This will generate a preview of your meme at full resolution. From the export modal, you can download the image as a PNG file or copy it to your clipboard.

The editor uses responsive scaling to fit different screen sizes. Your text will always export at the correct size regardless of how it appears on your screen. The scaling info panel in the customization area shows you the actual export dimensions.

This feature adds a white space at the top of your meme, which is useful for certain meme formats or when you want extra space for text. Toggle it with the square icon in the toolbar.

No account is required for basic meme creation. However, creating an account allows you to save your memes, publish them to the community, and access advanced features as we add them.

Create an account and use the "Save Meme" button (heart icon) in the studio toolbar. Your saved memes will appear in "My Memes" section where you can edit, publish, or delete them later.

Publishing makes your meme visible to other users in the community gallery. You can toggle between public and private status for any of your saved memes from the "My Memes" page.

Yes! We support Google authentication for quick and secure sign-in. You can also create a traditional account with username and password if you prefer.

No! We export memes at their original resolution with no compression. PNG format preserves all image quality and supports transparency for the best results.
